Minimum Starting Salary: $65,400
Location: CVES Learning Hub, Plattsburgh
Anticipated Start Date: Immediate Opening
Position Information: 12 Month Position
Paid Time off: 20 paid holidays, snow days off, 18 sick days, 15 vacation days, 4 personal leave days and 3 bereavement days per occurrence
Retirement System: New York State and Local Retirement System (NYSLRS)
Health Insurance: 14% of premiums paid by employee. BOCES pays 86% of premium.
- CEWW health insurance consortium is the same as 15 local school districts.

Typical work activities:
- Attend Component District Safety Committee Meetings
- Attend Component District Building-Level Safety Committee meetings??
- Create and maintain Regional Crisis Team (Hold regular meetings)?
- Create and maintain Regional Administrative Crisis Team (Hold regular meetings)
- Conduct/observe/facilitate Fire (evacuation) drills & Lockdown drills
- Respond to Component districts in crisis – Assess needs of district
- Coordinate Crisis Team Deployment as needed.??
- Coordinate Administrative Crisis Team Deployment as needed.??
- Coordinates with Emergency Operations Center(s) (May participate in EOC’s regular meetings)??
- Coordinate/facilitate initial and follow up Threat assessment trainings.??
- Coordinate/facilitate initial and follow up Reunification Trainings??
- Coordinate/facilitate Handle with Care (or similar program) ??
- Conduct audits on Reunification Plans/Procedures, Threat Assessment Plans/Procedures, School Safety Plan, Building Level Emergency Response Plan
- Prepares and conducts safety training sessions for each school district
- Provides information to schools on safety matters requiring rule compliance and on general safety issues
- Attends safety seminars and technical workshops
- Acts as safety consultant to member schools
- Acts as liaison between school districts and local, state, and federal agencies
- Completes special projects as assigned by BOCES administrators
